The first time I had this dish was when I was in college back in Kuantan, Pahang, some 14 years ago. We were staying at this house rented by the college for some of its students since there were not enough hostel rooms to cover all students attending college at that given time.
There was a food stall located right outside our house, and so convenient it was since the lady who operated the stall would sell breakfast and for tea, too. Not lunch, though, but we usually would get our lunch over at the college cafeteria, then went home to have lunch.
Anyway, this one the husband bought at a local restaurant over here, right in front of my old high school. I was surprised that he like this one, seemed the husband’s taste seemed to veer towards Indian food, really. I have never been to the restaurant to eat over there, but it would be nice to see what other fares that they offer.
I found some recipes online for it, and it does not that complicated. The blue color came from bunga telang, a type of flower with a blue hue. For convenience sake, I believe some people would use blue coloring, especially for those who live oversea.
I would love to try this recipe sometimes.
