This serves as a side vegetable dish that I cooked whenever I was in a hurry. I can see a theme here : food in-a-hurry!

Anyway, this is super easy, super delicious, and it the soup is super slurpable, really….

VEGETABLE WITH SHRIMP AND SQUID

Ingredients

  • 200g shrimp, peeled. Cooked ones worked just as well
  • 3 medium sized squid, cleaned and cut into rings
  • One bunch of vegetable, in this instance I used choy sam
  • 3 garlic cloves, crushed
  • 2 TB oyster sauce
  • 1 TB soy sauce
  • 1 tsp white pepper powder
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1 TB oil
  • 1 cup water
choy sam
Method

  1. Heat the oil, then add the crushed garlic into the pan. Saute until fragrant, then add the water.
  2. Let it come to a boil, then add shrimp and squid, oyster sauce, soy sauce, white pepper powder, and the salt. You could omit salt if you feel that the soup is salty enough since some oyster sauce could be a tad salty.
  3. Lower the heat, cook until the shrimp curled and turned pink. Add the vegetable, let cook for another couple of minutes so as not to overcook the vegetable. Take off heat.
  4. Ready to be served.
