64. Beef Marinated in Spicy Garlic and Garam Masala Sauce
10:33 am Beefeater, Curry Dish, Home Cooking, Quick n' Easy
My husband bought me a big container of garam masala, and the only thing he said was he liked to marinade lamb with garam masala.
Okay, since he did not get me any lamb, instead there was lots of beef in the freezer, I decided to try it this way.
It was not bad. Could be better, I know, if it was hotter.

BEEF MARINATED IN SPICY GARLIC AND GARAM MASALA SAUCE
Ingredients
- 600g beef stewing, sliced
- 1 onion, sliced
Vegetable medley (use anything u have at hand)
- 2 potatoes, quartered, fried
- 1 celery stick, cut into 1 inch thick
- 1/2 cucumber, quartered, sliced into 1 inch thick
- 1 TB oil for sauteeing
Marinade:
- 4 garlic cloves, sliced thin
- 2 inch ginger (preferably old ginger) grated
- 4 TB oil
- 5 TB chili powder
- 2 TB garam masala
- 2 TB cumin seed
- 2 TB sugar
- 1 tsp salt
- Juice from one lemon
Method
- Marinade the sliced beef into about 4 TB of the marinade mixture (the amount made would yield more than needed. Set aside the rest in a tight container). Set it to marinade for about an hour.
- Heat the oil, then saute the sliced onion. Then add the marinated beef, let it cook on high. Turn it over once in a while.
- It would take just about 10 minutes on high to get all the juice out from the beef, stir, keep on cooking till the juice dried, and the oil separates. Then adjust seasoning, add the fried potatoes, sliced celery and cucumber. Stir, then take off heat.
- Add sliced spring onion, mix well with the beef, before serving.
